LONDON, KY (February 5, 2021) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel along with Detective Richard Dalrymple on Friday morning February 5, 2021 at approximately 10:51 AM. following an ongoing investigation have placed additional charges on Dana Jones age 58 of Old Whitley Road, London.
The new charges include:
- Rape– first-degree
- Unlawful transaction with a minor – third-degree regarding an alleged 15-year-old female juvenile who had been given alcohol at Jones's residence off Old Whitley Road near London
- Rape– first-degree regarding the alleged rape of a 19-year-old female victim at Jones's residence off Old Whitley Road near London.
Previously, Laurel Sheriff's deputies and detectives conducted a welfare check at Dana Jones’s residence off Old Whitley Road near London and found 58-year-old Dana Jones with a 14-year-old female juvenile.
During that investigation Sheriff's investigators learned that allegedly Dana Jones had raped and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old female there.
Sheriff's investigators also located sexual material on the male subject’s cell phone.
Dana Jones was previously charged with:
- Rape – first-degree
- Sexual abuse – first-degree
- Possessing/viewing matter portraying sexual performance by a minor
Sheriff's investigators lodged Dana Jones in the Laurel County Correctional Center on Sunday January 31,2021. Dana Jones remains lodged at the Laurel County Correctional Center.
