LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler along with Deputy Brent France arrested Edgar W. Sizemore age 22 of Fariston Road, London on Monday night February 22, 2021 at approximately 11:13 PM.
The arrest occurred off Old State Road, approximately 4 miles South of London while deputies were investigating a stolen vehicle complaint.
Deputies were told that the victim had apparently parked his vehicle (a Ford Expedition) at a business off US 25 approximately 5 miles South of London and noted that he observed an individual that he was acquainted with nearby.
Upon entering/exiting the store the victim advised his vehicle was gone and that a friend of his followed the vehicle for a short time not locating it immediately, however found the vehicle later at a residence off Old State Road.
The victim contacted Laurel 911 Dispatch Ctr. who radioed Deputy Brent France who responded to the location off Old State Road where the vehicle was reportedly parked.
When Deputy France arrived at the scene the occupant exited the vehicle and attempted to flee but following a foot chase was apprehended.
During the arrest and investigation suspected Meth, a hypodermic needle, and a set of digital scales were located and determined to belong to the occupant who had fled on foot.
The occupant was identified as:
Edgar W. Sizemore age 22 of Fariston Road, London charged with:
- Theft by unlawful taking – auto – $500 or more but under $10,000
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug paraphernalia
- Fleeing or evading police – second-degree – on foot
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
