LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy James Fox arrested Jesus Alberto Torres age 21 of Corbin early Wednesday morning March 3, 2021 at approximately 12:18 AM.

The arrest occurred off Highway 770 approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an injury traffic crash with entrapment near the 770 bridge.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they located a gray colored Chevrolet Tahoe involved in the crash and learned through investigation that the driver and another male passenger received injuries along with three juvenile females who were also in the vehicle and were injured.

Two of the juvenile females were airlifted to UK Medical Center for treatment of their injuries. The remaining passengers were transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to Baptist Healthcare Hospital for treatment.

Deputies determined the driver of the vehicle was Jesus Alberto Torres:

Jesus Torres was charged with:

  • Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
  • Three counts of assault – first-degree
  • No operator's license
  • Failure to wear seatbelts
  • Three counts of unlawful transaction with a minor – third-degree
  • Reckless driving

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
