LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Marcus Stigall along with Deputy Brent France, Deputy Greg Poynter, and Deputy Charlie Johnson arrested Paul Bruce Mathews age 63 of London on Sunday night June 13, 2021 at approximately 10:40 PM.
The arrest occurred off Cane Branch Road approximately 7 miles west of London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject standing at the end of a driveway shooting at a house not his own.
When deputies arrived at the scene, they located the suspect with a shotgun and handgun nearby and determined through investigation that the suspect was under the influence.
In addition, they learned that allegedly this subject had been yelling at an individual there, pulled a gun and shot two times in the direction of the property there yelling and cursing.
Paul Bruce Mathews was charged with:
- Wanton endangerment – second-degree
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
