SALYERSVILLE, KY (September 13, 2021) – Kentucky State Police Pikeville Post received a call on September 12, 2021, at 6:23 P.M. reporting a single vehicle collision had occurred on Old Burning Fork Road in the Salyersville community of Magoffin County. A trooper from Post 9 responded and began the investigation.
The initial investigation indicated Samantha Lykins, 29 years old of Salyersville, was operating a 2015 Nissan Altima on Old Burning Fork Road when Lykins’ vehicle exited the roadway and struck a tree over an embankment.
Samantha Lykins was pronounced deceased on scene by the Magoffin County Coroner’s Office.
Trooper Tracy Salyer is investigating the collision and was assisted on scene by Kentucky State Police Post 9 personnel, Magoffin County Sheriff’s Department, Magoffin County Rescue Squad, and Lifeguard Ambulance Service.
