LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Robert C. Burkhart age 47 of East Bernstadt on Monday night October 4, 2021 at approximately 10:10 PM.
The arrest occurred in a business parking lot in London after deputies were dispatched to a complaint of a male subject apparently passed out in a white Tahoe style vehicle there.
When Sgt. Mehler arrived at the scene he located a white GMC Yukon in the reported area of the complaint and observed a male subject slumped over possibly passed out inside the vehicle.
Sgt. Mehler noted whiskey bottles all over the inside of the vehicle and an empty whiskey bottle beside the vehicle outside.
An investigation was conducted on the occupant who was determined to be under the influence of alcoholic beverages.
Robert C. Burkhart was charged with:
- ALCOHOL INTOX IN A PUBLIC PLACE (1ST & 2ND OFFENSE
- POSS OF OPEN ALC BEVERAGE CONT IN MOTOR VEH PROHIBITED
- CRIMINAL LITTERING
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
