WHITLEY CITY, KY – The Kentucky State Police, London Post is investigating a shooting incident that took place on Claude Bryant Road in McCreary County on October 7, 2021 at approximately 8:43 PM.
The preliminary investigation reveals that McCreary County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a altercation involving Phillip T. Dobbs, 28 years old, of Whitley City, Ky. and Darrell E. Threet, 33 years old, of Whitley City.
During the investigation, it was determined Darrell Threet shot Mr. Dobbs while they were in an altercation.
Mr. Dobbs was taken by McCreary County EMS to Lake Cumberland Hospital in Pulaski County. Then transported by air evac to University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital where he remains in stable condition.
The investigation is continuing and will be presented to the McCreary County Grand Jury.
The investigation is continuing by Post 11 Detective Eric Moore. He was assisted at the scene by Post 11 personnel, McCreary County Sherriff’s Office, McCreary County EMS, Air Evac.
