LOUISVILLE, KY –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) has been requested by Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 12:35 A.M. EST on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Louisville.
At the request of the LMPD, KSP’s Critical Incident Response Team have arrived on the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing. A male suspect was pronounced deceased at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled by the Kentucky Office of the Medical Examiner in Louisville.
No officers or members of the community were injured during this incident.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies. KSP is committed to being transparent while ensuring the integrity of the investigation.
