Lexington, KY (February 17, 2022) — Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade association representing all carriers offering health coverage in Kentucky, today announced “Vaccinations for Organizations,” an initiative aimed at increasing vaccine access and acceptance by empowering non-profit organizations across Kentucky with incentives up $15,000.

Churches, charities, non-profits, and foundations can register at www.kahp.org by March 13, 2022 to be one of 20 organizations selected by March 18, 2022 to host a vaccine clinic. KAHP will coordinate with the organization on a date to mobilize a medical team to the organization’s chosen location to administer the vaccine. Vaccination events will be held before April 15, 2022. Payouts will be based upon the verified number of participants ages 12 and up who receive the 1st, 2nd, or booster dose.

  • 15-25 people – $3,000
  • 26-50 people – $5,000
  • 51-75 people – $8,000
  • 76-100 people – $10,000
  • 101+ people $15,000

“This is the next iteration of our multiphase effort to encourage vaccination uptake in Kentucky,” said KAHP Executive Director, Tom Stephens. “Over the past year, our organization has awarded over $500,000 to Kentucky non-profits for COVID Outreach. Local groups know their communities and are extremely effective in reaching those who may be hesitant.”

The state’s vaccine dashboard shows 2,872,070 Kentuckians have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That is 64% of the population.

Kentucky’s Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and commercial insurers are reaching their members through digital and radio ads, robust cash incentives, transportation coordination, pop-up clinics, clinics staffed by bilingual personnel, homebound vaccination visits, text and email campaigns, yard signs, billboards, outbound calls to members prioritized by risk tier, personalized assistance from advocates with sign-ups and digital site navigation, direct mail, and follow-up on second and third dose appointments based on claims data.
