LONDON, KY - The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at approximately 10:30 PM, KSP Troopers from Post 11, London, conducted a traffic stop on Arthur Ridge Road in Laurel County for expired registration plates.
Through the course of the traffic stop the operator was found to be under the influence as well as possessing approximately .25 grams of suspected Methamphetamine.
Troopers continued the investigation and learned the suspected Methamphetamine was purchased at a residence on Chapel Road in East Bernstadt. KSP Trooper Trey Lovins was able to obtain and execute a search warrant on that residence.

During the execution of the search warrant, Troopers located in the suspect's bedroom:
- Over 1.15 pounds of suspected Methamphetamine
- Heroin
- Marijuana
- 4 firearms
- digital scales
- Drug paraphernalia
- An undisclosed amount of U.S. Currency
Also located inside the residence was the suspect, Billy Conn Hurley Jr. age 58 of London, KY and Billy Conn Hurley Sr. age 79 who was wanted an active Laurel County bench warrant.
Billy Hurley Jr. is charged with:
- TRAFF IN CONT SUB, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFF - (> OR = 2 GMS METHAMPHETAMINE)
- TRAFF IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST OFFENSE (HEROIN)
- TRAF IN MARIJUANA ( LESS THAN 8 OZ.) 1ST OFF
- POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY CONVICTED FELON
- POSSESSION OF HANDGUN BY CONVICTED FELON
- POSS CONT SUB 1ST DEG 1ST OFF (DRUG UNSPECIFIED)
- DRUG PARAPHERNALIA - BUY/POSSESS
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Billy Hurley Sr. was charged on:
- The active Laurel County bench warrant
