COVINGTON, KY – The Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that: KSP has been requested by the Covington Police Department (CPD) to investigate an officer-involved shooting that occurred at approximately 12:20 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2023 at Glenway Avenue in Covington.
At the request of CPD, the Kentucky State Police Post 6 arrived on the scene and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
A CPD officer was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
One male subject was transported to the University of Cincinnati Hospital and pronounced deceased.
KSP has statewide jurisdiction and investigates officer-involved shootings throughout the commonwealth as requested by local law enforcement agencies.
