WILLIAMSBURG, KY– On Tuesday, November 28, 2023, The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement responded to a fatal crash located on KY-92 East in Whitley County, Kentucky.
Upon arrival and through investigation officers learned that a 2004 Ford Pick-Up Truck was being operated by 52-year-old Linda Bedford of Pineville, Kentucky, and had crossed the centerline colliding with a 2015 Kenworth Tractor Trailer operated by 57-year-old Clyde Norman of Pioneer Tennessee.
Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors; Bedford was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Bedford was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Whitley Co. Coroner's office. KY-92 East was shut down for several hours while officers investigated the crash.
Assisted on the scene: CVE officers, Whitley County EMS, and Whitley County Coroners officer. CVE Officer Jason Freeman continues the investigation.
