WILLIAMSBURG, KY - The Whitley County Sheriff's Department is announcing/publicizing that our Deputies will be periodically conducting traffic safety checkpoints at various locations throughout Whitley County.
After a publication period our checkpoints will be conducted in an effort to enforce all traffic laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, emphasizing occupant protection (seatbelt and child safety seat adherence), impaired driving, operator licensing, insurance and vehicle registration enforcement.
A complete list of our pre-approved traffic safety checkpoint locations follows and are in compliance with Department policy and procedure.
