LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen along with Deputy Bobby Roberts and K-9/shift Sgt. Gary Mehler arrested Ashley Sears age 41 of Somerset on Thursday night March 7, 2024 at approximately 8:40 PM.
The arrest occurred on Hammock Road, approximately 3 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to numerous complaints of a female subject laying in the road screaming.
When deputies arrived in the vicinity of the complaint, they located the female subject who immediately began screaming and cursing at deputies there.
Deputies attempted to calm the subject down however she continued to yell and curse and create a disturbance.
Deputies determined that this individual was under the influence.
Upon arrest this individual kicked Deputy Roberts and following a brief struggle with deputies this individual was taken into custody and placed in the patrol vehicle.
Ashley Sears was charged with:
- Public intoxication – controlled substances
- Disorderly conduct – second-degree
- Assault – third-degree – police officer is victim
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
