KSP TROOPER FATALLY INJURED IN COLLISION IN WARREN COUNTY, KENTUCKY

BOWLING GREEN, KY –The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 3 has requested the Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) to investigate a two-vehicle collision that occurred on Tuesday, April 30 on Nashville Road near the intersection of Fortuna Avenue in Bowling Green.

Thin Grey Line KSP 200The preliminary investigation indicates that Trooper Jonathan Johnson, age 48, of Bowling Green, while off-duty was operating a 2003 Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycle traveling south on Nashville Road. 

Zeljka Meskovic, age 53, of Bowling Green, was operating a 2008 Toyota Camry, traveling north on Nashville Road in the center turning lane.

Mrs. Meskovic made a left turn into the travel path of Trooper Johnson, who was unable to stop or avoid the collision. His motorcycle collided with the Camry, and he sustained fatal injuries. No other injuries were reported.  

Trooper Johnson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Warren County Coroner. The investigation remains ongoing by KSP CIRT.

KSP was assisted at the scene by KSP Post 3, KSP Post 15, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Bowling Green Police Department, Bowling Green Fire Department, Warren County Coroners Office and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
