FRANKFORT, KY – Attorney General Russell Coleman announced his opposition to the Biden Administration’s relentless regulatory assault on everyday household appliances. The U.S. Department of Energy put forward five major regulations to advance the Administration’s political agenda and impose unworkable restrictions on Americans’ choice of dishwashers, clothes washers, clothes dryers, gas ovens, stovetops and refrigerators.
The Biden Administration would reach into Kentuckians’ homes and force families to ditch their preferred appliances for politically favored alternatives. According to industry groups, the new standards would leave consumers with higher costs, fewer choices and lesser products. Once again, the Biden Administration is clearly overreaching its authority to advance a radical green agenda during an election year.
“These out-of-touch mandates would further strain Kentucky families who are already suffering under the crushing weight of inflation,” said Attorney General Coleman. “The Biden Administration should end this policy stunt and deliver relief to moms and dads just trying to wash their dishes.”
Attorney General Coleman joined multiple coalitions of states to oppose the Department of Energy rules, preserve choice for Kentuckians and deliver relief to families during historic inflation.
