LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Daniel Reed arrested Raymond Duff, age 50, of East Bernstadt on Wednesday afternoon August 1, 2024 at approximately 2:00 PM.
The arrest occurred off U.S. 25 approximately 2 miles north of London following a traffic stop conducted on a moped that failed to signal a turn.
During the stop Deputy Reed determined that the driver was operating on a DUI suspended license. In addition, during the stop an open alcoholic beverage container was discovered and it was learned that the driver was wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Also, it was determined that the VIN number on the moped this individual was operating was obscured.
Raymond Duff was charged with:
- Driving on DUI suspended license – first offense
- Possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle prohibited
- Destruction of VIN number
In addition, this individual was determined to be wanted on a Clay District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
