LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Zach Allen arrested Regina Pennington, age 46 of London on Wednesday evening July 31, 2024 at approximately 6:02 PM.
The arrest occurred off Hawk Creek Road, approximately 5 miles west of London after Deputy Allen was dispatched to conduct a welfare check on a female subject apparently laying in the yard and not moving.
As Deputy Allen arrived in the vicinity of the complaint, he located a female driving a black Kia Soul attempting to turn around and onto Hawk Creek Road.
Deputy Allen gave commands to the female driver to stop the vehicle and Deputy Allen noted detecting the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the driver.
An investigation was conducted and it was determined that the driver was under the influence.
It was also determined that this individual was the individual reported on the original welfare check complaint.
Regina Pennington was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
