OWINGSVILLE, KY – Kentucky State Police (KSP) is reporting that on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, KSP Post 8, Morehead received a call for assistance from Bath County dispatch at around 5:17 p.m. in reference to a fatal collision on Interstate 64.
KSP troopers responded to Interstate 64 near mile marker 124 in Bath County and began an investigation.
Troopers determined through the investigation that a male individual identified as Troy Caldwell 54 years of age from Morehead, KY was operating a tow truck owned by Jerry’s Towing of Morehead.
While he was loading up a vehicle onto a rollback he was struck by a commercial vehicle traveling westbound. Troy Caldwell was pronounced deceased at the scene by Bath County Coroner Andrew Owens.
After an extensive investigation, KSP troopers arrested the commercial vehicle driver, identified as: Shodmon Yuldashev, age 29, from Brooklyn, New York.
Shodmon Yuldashev was charged with:
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
This individual was lodged in the Rowan County Detention Center.

Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by the Bath County Sheriff’s Office, Bath County Coronor’s Office, Bath County EMS, and the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office.
