Riders abandoned motorcycle, fled on foot (Clay County Sheriffs Office)

ILLEGAL BIKER, TEENAGE PASSENGER ARRESTED AFTER UNSUCESSFUL ATTEMPT TO FLEE DEPUTIES IN CLAY CO., KENTUCKY

MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Sheriff's Deputy Jordan Duncil, assisted by Deputy Michael Gilliam, observed a black Yamaha motorcycle with two occupants but no visible license plate.

 CLAY Sheriff logo KY 175Deputies attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle, but the driver accelerated and attempted to flee for approximately 1 mile, until the motorcycle quit running.

The riders left the disabled motorcycle behind and both continued to flee Sheriff's Deputies on foot in an attempt to evade capture but were apprehended by the relentless officers and placed under arrest with no further incident.

Once in custody, the suspects were identified as:

The driver, Jason Marcum, age 28, of Lily, KY 40740 and passenger, Joseph Boswell, age 18. They were transported to the Clay County Detention Center for processing.

  • NO REGISTRATION PLATES
  • NO TAIL LAMPS-FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST DEGREE
  • RESISTING ARREST
  • NO REGISTRATION RECEIPT
  • LICENSE TO BE IN POSSESSION
  • NO OPERATORS-MOPED LICENSE
  • FAILURE TO PRODUCE INSURANCE CARD
  • FAILURE TO REGISTER TRANSFER OF MOTOR VEHICLE
  • NON-PAYMENT OF COURT COSTS, FEES OR FINES

 Joseph BoswellJordan Boswell was charged with:

  • FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 2ND DEGREE
  • RESISTING ARREST

These two individuals were lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
