SOMERSET, KY - Pulaski County Sheriff Bobby Jones reports the arrest of a Somerset man for drug related offenses after deputies perform a search of his residence.
On Thursday, November 14, 2024, at approximately 10:45 p.m., armed with a search warrant, Deputy Grant Bryant, along with Lt. Richard Smith, SGT Alex Wesley and Deputies Ronnie Golden and Dylan West, went to a home on Ashurst St. in Somerset, KY.
Acting on a drug tip received earlier in the night, Deputy Grant Bryant had obtained a search warrant for the residence on on Ashurst St.
Once at the address listed on the search warrant, deputies encountered one of the residents, David L. West (left), age 62, outside the home.
After reading the search warrant, deputies began their search where they located pre-packaged bags of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia commonly used in the consumption, packaging and sale of illegal narcotics, and several firearms in West’s bedroom and bathroom. Deputies seized the contraband and arrested David L. West at the scene.
David L. West was charged with:
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st Degree-1st Offense-Greater than or Equal to 2 Grams (Enhanced)
- Drug Paraphernalia-Buy/Possess (Enhanced)
- Possession of Marijuana
West was lodged in the Pulaski County Detention Center.
