  • President Trump signaled a return to the "basics" beginning as soon as he takes office: "A lot of it will have to do with economics. A lot is going to have to do with energy. A lot is going to have to do with the border."

  • President Trump previewed his second inaugural address: "It's going to be a message of unity — and, again, I think success brings unity."

  • President Trump offered a message to all Americans — including those who didn't vote for him: "We want success for our country."

  • President Trump outlined his positive vision for the country: "I'm not looking to go back into the past. I'm looking to make our country successful. Retribution will be through success."

  • President Trump declared his immediate top priority will be border security: "We have to get the criminals out of our country ... Number one, we're doing criminals — and we're going to do them really rapidly."

  • President Trump reiterated his plan for mass deportations of criminal illegal aliens: "I think you have to do it. It's a very tough thing to do, but you have rules, regulations, laws — they came in illegally. The people who have been treated very unfairly are the people that have been in line for ten years to come into the country."

  • President Trump outlined the effectiveness of tariffs: "I have stopped wars with tariffs."

  • President Trump described urging Mexico and Canada to stem the flow of illegal immigration and deadly drugs into the United States: "[Trudeau] flew to Mar-a-Lago within about 15 seconds after the call ended."

  • President Trump pledged to make the country healthy again: "When you look at what's going on with disease and sickness in our country — something's wrong!"

  • President Trump elaborated on the future of NATO: "If they're paying their bills and if I think they're treating us fairly, the answer is absolutely I'd stay with NATO."

  • President Trump asserted the need for peace — particularly in Ukraine: "There are people being killed in that war at levels that nobody has ever seen before ... It should've never been allowed to happen."

  • President Trump re-committed to protecting Americans with pre-existing conditions: "I want to have better health care for less money."

  • President Trump re-affirmed his promise to protect Social Security for America's seniors: "We're not touching Social Security."

  • President Trump commented on the future of FBI Director Chris Wray: "If Kash Patel gets in, he's going to be taking somebody's place, right? That somebody is the man you're talking about."

  • President Trump addressed pardons for J6 defendants: "We're going to look at individual cases ... They've been in there for years."
