LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's deputy Cody Blackwell arrested Shirley Roark age 65 of East Bernstadt on Sunday afternoon December 1, 2024 at approximately 3:17 PM.
The arrest occurred on Walter Eversole Road, approximately 4 miles north of London after Deputy Blackwell was dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint of a female subject apparently laying on the shoulder of the roadway passed out.
When Deputy Blackwell arrived at the scene, he located the individual and upon awakening her noted detecting a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from her person.
An investigation was conducted and she was determined to be under the influence.
Shirley Roark was charged with:
- Alcohol intoxication in a public place
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
