LEXINGTON, KY WOMAN WANTED ON FELONY WARRANTS CAPTURED IN CLAY COUNTY FOLLOWING POLICE PURSUIT FROM LONDON

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel arrested three individuals on Tuesday night December 10, 2024 at approximately 10:56 PM. The arrest occurred on Highway 687 in Clay County following a traffic pursuit from Hal Rogers Parkway/Highway 638 in London.

The incident began when London City Police Sgt. Ryan Jackson observed a silver colored Dodge Charger traveling at a high rate of speed and failing to signal a turn onto Highway 638 from the Hal Rogers Parkway. A check of the plate revealed that the owner of the vehicle had two outstanding felony warrants.

Sgt. Jackson attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle however, it failed to stop and began fleeing, traveling at a high rate of speed and onto the wrong side of the roadway before the deployment of spike strips by police on Highway 687 in the Manchester area of Clay County. After the fleeing vehicle contacted the spike strips it came to a stop.

The vehicle was occupied by three individuals who were arrested and identified as: Misty Vaughn age 32 of Davenport Drive, Lexington, KY, the driver; Michael Flannery age 25 of North Laurel Ave., Corbin, KY and the passenger; —Andrew Hall age 41 of North Highway 1223, Corbin, KY. During arrest this individual refused to exit the suspect vehicle and following a brief struggle with officers was taken into custody. 

During use of the spike strips numerous police vehicles were damaged including the Laurel County Sheriff's office, Clay County Sheriff's office, London City Police, and Manchester City Police.

Misty Vaughn was charged on:

Two outstanding warrants including a Laurel District Court bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of:

  • Theft by unlawful taking
  • Criminal possession of a forged instrument – third-degree

In addition, this individual was charged on a Knox District Court bench warrant of arrest charging no bond allowed regarding charges of:

  • Possession of a controlled substance – second-degree
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia

Michael Flannery was charged with:

  • Speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit
  • Fleeing or evading police – first-degree
  • Reckless driving
  • Seven counts of wanton endangerment – first-degree
  • Criminal mischief – second-degree

Andrew Hall was charged with:

  • Menacing
  • Resisting arrest

These 3 individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
