LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Taylor McDaniel is investigating a reported shooting which occurred off Full Moon Circle, approximately 7 miles west of London on Saturday afternoon January 4th, 2025 at approximately 4:24 PM.
Sheriff's investigators were dispatched by London – Laurel County 911 Communication Ctr. to a complaint that a male subject had been shot there.
When investigators arrived at the scene, they found a male subject who had been shot once in the front torso. This individual was airlifted to UK Med Center in Lexington for treatment of a serious injury.
Investigators learned that allegedly a female there was involved in an altercation with her boyfriend when she allegedly shot him. The female was identified as Ivy Casteel age 21 of London, KY, she taken into custody and later transported to the Laurel County Detention Center.
Ivy Casteel was charged with:
- Assault 1st degree
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
