ST. MARY'S COUNTY, MD - MSP Barrack “T” Leonardtown, Maryland issued this weekly news release on Wednesday, February 19, 2025.

Maryland State Police seal 200On February 13, 2025, Sr Tpr Oyler responded to the Yummy’s restaurant, located at 46300 Lexington Village Way Suite 101, Lexington Park, MD,  for the report of a theft in progress. Investigation revealed Terry Antonio Wheeler, 56 of Lexington Park, MD was in possession of stolen merchandise from the Kohl’s, located at 46240 Lexington Village Way, Lexington Park, MD. Wheeler was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Theft: $100 to Under $1,500 and Malicious Destruction of Property – Value Less Than $1,000.

On February 14, 2025, Cpl DiToto conducted a traffic stop in the parking lot of the AMC movie theater, located at 21882 FDR Boulevard, Lexington Park, MD. Investigation revealed the passenger of the vehicle, identified as James Aaron Bernard Barnes, 36 of Lexington Park, MD was in violation of an active protection order. Barnes was arrested by Tpr Wheeler and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where he was charged with Violation of a Protective Order.

On February 17, 2025, Sr Tpr Olyer responded to the Sleep Inn, located at 23428 Three Notch Road, Hollywood, MD for the report of a subject with a knife. Investigation revealed that Shyla Marie Moore, 18 of Cambridge, MD threatened the victim with a knife during an argument. Moore was arrested and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center where she was charged with First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Dangerous Weapon – Intent/Injure.

The following people were arrested for Open Warrants:

  • On February 15, 2025, Jarred Cody Edwards, 31 of Lusby, MD was arrested by Tpr Rosenblatt for FTA: Driving without a required license
  • On February 16, 2025, Candace Rebecca Carroll, 34 of No Fixed Address, MD was arrested by Cpl Johnson for Rogue & Vagabond and Theft: $100 to Under $1,500
  • On February 18, 2025, Lewis Michael Chase, 64 of Saint Inigoes, MD was arrested by Tpr Phelps for FTA: Driving without a required license

All persons charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
