PRESS RELEASE
WASHINGTON COUNTY, OR (Thursday, March 6, 2025) - Tigard Police detectives are investigating after a Tesla dealership in Tigard was damaged by gunfire overnight.
The damage was discovered by employees who arrived for work this morning (Thursday, March 6, 2025) at the dealership on SW Cascade Avenue. Investigators believe at least 7 shots were fired, damaging 3 cars and shattering windows. One bullet went through an office wall and into a computer monitor. Fortunately, this happened overnight when the property was unoccupied.
Based on surveillance video in the area, investigators believe the suspect or suspects began firing around 1:46AM, however a description for the person or people responsible is not yet available. Crime scene technicians responded to the scene, and investigators are working to gather any additional physical and/or video evidence that may be available.
While the motivation for this has not been confirmed, we are aware that other Tesla dealerships have been targeted across Oregon and the nation for political reasons.
To ensure a thorough and broad-scope investigation, we are working with our federal partners, including the FBI and ATF, to investigate this case. An ATF explosives detection K-9, which includes firearm shell casings, and handler were on site today.
If you saw something that may be helpful in this investigation, please call the Tigard Police tip line at 503-718-COPS or email . You can remain anonymous.
