CHIEF DEPUTY LOCATES, ARRESTS SUSPECT BURNING ALLEGED STOLEN COPPER ON LUCY LANE IN CLAY COUNTY

MANCHESTER, KY - Clay County Sheriff, Patrick Robinson, reports that on Friday, March 28, 2025, Chief Deputy Clifton Jones responded to a call from 911 dispatch in reference to an individual that was burning copper on Lucy Lane.

When Chief Deputy Jones arrived on scene and began an investigation, he located a male subject, identified as Randall Grubb, 53, of Manchester, KY burning copper wire and electric motors.

As he continued his investigation, Chief Deputy Jones learned that the copper wire had been stolen from different locations around the Clay County, KY area and the motors were reported stolen from a local business.

The suspect had a large box of burned copper wire in his possession, along with cutters and different other needed tools. This suspect was placed under arrest and later transported to the Clay County Detention Center.

Randall Grubb was arrested for:

  • FAILURE TO APPEAR
  • THEFT OF SERVICES $10,000 OR MORE
  • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING/ DISP ALL OTHERS

This individual was lodged in the Clay County Detention Center.
