FRANKFORT, KY — Republican Party of Kentucky Communications Director Andy Westberry released the following statement regarding the House passage of 'One Big, Beautiful Bill Act':
"The House passage of The One Big, Beautiful Bill Act marks a major victory for working-class Kentuckians and their families. The fear-mongering, misinformation, and over-the-top pearl-clutching being peddled by Gov. Andy Beshear and other Kentucky Democrats is nothing more than a desperate attempt to prey on the fears of Kentucky families.
"They say they're standing up for Kentucky families—but the truth is, their obsession with opposing anything remotely tied to Donald Trump has become so unhinged that they're willing to jeopardize real progress just to generate a headline or soundbite. That's not leadership. That's political theatre at the expense of everyday Kentuckians.
"Without this bill, hardworking Kentuckians would face a devastating 24% tax increase. The child tax credit would be slashed in half, hitting nearly half a million families. Low- to middle-income senior citizens would continue to be unfairly taxed on their Social Security benefits.
"Chairman Guthrie deserves enormous credit for his tireless leadership and commitment to standing up for middle-class Americans. Thanks to him and the Republican House caucus, Medicaid will remain strong and focused on the Americans it was always meant to serve."
