HARLAN, KY - Harlan County Sheriff Chris Brewer reports that: On Tuesday, May 20th around 9:00 pm Deputy Caleb Carmical responded to a residence in the Baxter community to serve a warrant on Donald Wynn for burglary at Harlan County High School facilities.
Upon arrival the suspect, identified as Donald C. Wynn, age 37 of Putney, KY fled on foot and after a brief pursuit assaulted Deputy Carmical in an attempt to resist arrest. Deputy Carmical was quickly able to subdue Wynn.
Donald Wynn was arrested by Deputy Carmical. The Harlan County Schools Police Department was contacted and Officers Danny Ball and Jayson Howard responded to the scene to follow up on their investigation.
Donald Wynn was charged with:
- Assault 3rd police officer
- Fleeing or evading on foot
- Resisting arrest
Wynn was also arrested on warrants for:
- Burglary 3rd degree
- Theft by unlawful taking over $1000
- State Parole Board
The accused was lodged in the Harlan County Detention Center.
