LONDON, KY — Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Drug Interdiction Unit Justin Taylor arrested Larry Dalton Bartley, age 31, of Georgetown, KY on Thursday night July 10, 2025 at approximately 11:06 PM.
The arrest occurred on E. Laurel Rd. (KY 80), approximately 12 miles east of London at a traffic safety checkpoint conducted by the Laurel County Sheriff's office.
During the stop it was determined that Larry Bartley, the driver of a black Ford Focus was wanted on a Kentucky Parole Board parole violation warrant. Also, during the arrest, this individual was found in possession of U.S. currency, packaged suspected methamphetamine and oxycodone, all of which are consistent with active drug trafficking. The cash and drugs were seized and Mr. Bartley was transported to the Laurel County Correctional Center.
Larry Bartley was charged on a Kentucky Parole Board parole violation warrant charging:
- Absconding parole supervision
- Failure to attend treatment for substance abuse
- Failure to complete graduated sanctions
In addition —Failure to report to parole officer as directed regarding a conviction in Floyd, Johnson, and Lawrence County Circuit Court's regarding charges of:
- Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon
- Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
- Receiving stolen property $500 or more but under $10,000
And also, an additional charge of:
- Fleeing or evading police – first-degree – motor vehicle
In addition —Bartley was charged with:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – opiates
- Prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
