LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Kentucky State Parks will hold a sale Oct. 22 at Waveland State Historic Site in Lexington.
Items include primitive farm implements and tools, antique furniture, period clothing, artwork, rugs and other items. These items duplicate what the park system has or are not period appropriate for park museums and display purposes.
Items will be sold on a “spot bid” basis in which bidders submit sealed bids. The sale, which will be administered by the Division of Surplus Property, will last from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and bids can be submitted anytime during that period.
Cash, cashier’s checks, certified checks, traveler’s checks and money orders can be accepted. A personal check can be accepted as long as it is on an in-state bank, the buyer has appropriate identification and the amount is under $5,000. Any personal check over $5,000 requires a letter of credit from the bank regardless of bank location. Credit cards can be accepted.
All sales are final. For information, contact Shirley Dexter at 502-564-8110, ext. 491. Proceeds will go to the conservation and improvement of current state park museum collections.
Waveland is located at 225 Waveland Museum Lane in Lexington.
