London, KY) The Kentucky State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement will be conducting high visibility enforcement operations starting October 21st – 26th 2013 during the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Operation Safe Driver Week.
Operation Safe Driver is a campaign concentrating on the unsafe driving practices of commercial and non commercial vehicle drivers. It is intended to improve unsafe driver behavior and performance though effective enforcement, education and awareness strategies.
CVE officers will focus in areas of high crash corridors with high commercial vehicle traffic and concentrate on moving violations, driver infractions and aggressive driving behaviors on all drivers.
Motorists should remember the following safety tips when driving near a big truck:
Stay out of the No-Zone
Stay visible
Don’t tailgate a truck
Don’t Speed
Allow plenty of room
Buckle-Up
