KSP Arrests Bourbon County Man For Introducing Contraband To Jail

(Paris, Ky.)— On January 15, 2014, the Kentucky State Police Drug Enforcement/Special Investigations Branch, assisted by members of the KSP Special Response Team, troopers from KSP Post 6 in Dry Ridge and officers from the Paris Police Dept., arrested a Bourbon County Regional Jail Officer.

Officer Jimmy Billups, Jr., 45, of 1226 Vine St., Paris, Ky., was arrested on charges related to the introduction of contraband material into the Bourbon County Regional Jail.

The investigation stemmed from a November 2013 complaint from jail officials that one of its employees was suspected of being involved in the repeated promotion of contraband within the facility. The investigation resulted in the execution of a search and arrest warrant at Billup’s residence which produced narcotics and additional evidence related to the case.

Billups was charged with Conspiracy to Traffic in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree. He was lodged in the Scott County Detention Center.
