(Rineyville, Ky.) — On March 5, 2014, at approximately 1:58 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by units from KSP Post 4 in Elizabethtown, arrested a man for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
Jessie Speed was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation.
The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant on the evening of Tuesday, March 4 at a private residence in Elizabethtown, Ky.
Information was obtained during this search warrant that led investigators to a private residence in Rineyville, Ky. where Speed was located and later arrested.
Speed was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center.
Equipment used to possess child pornography was seized from the private residence in Rineyville, Ky. and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination.
Speed is currently charged with 20 counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The investigation is ongoing.
