KSP Investigates Injury Collision in Lincoln County

(Stanford, KY) — On Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at approximately 10:15 p.m. EDT, the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post received a report of a traffic collision on HWY 150 just east of Stanford.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2007 Pontiac passenger vehicle, operated by Lee McGinnis, 21 years old of Harrodsburg, was traveling east on HWY 150. McGinnis crossed the centerline, striking two vehicles, a 1995 Nissan pick-up truck, operated by Roy Browning, 58 years old of Lancaster, and a 2008 Chevrolet passenger car, operated by Nancy Vanhook, 37 years old of Stanford.

Lee McGinnis and Nancy Vanhook were both airlifted to the UK Medical Center with serious injuries. Roy Browning and his passenger, Ashley Gordon, 21 years old of Lancaster, were transported to Fort Logan Hospital with minor injuries.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation, however alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision. The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Trooper Jeff Stith. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Lincoln County EMS, and the Lincoln County Fire Department.
