Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Deputy Kyle Gray arrested Michelle Elizabeth Payne age 34 of Spider Creek Rd., Corbin on Tuesday afternoon June 14, 2016 at approximately 2:35 PM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Gray arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject was allegedly observed by Walmart's loss prevention team concealing store merchandise on her person. Total value of the theft was $82.53.
Allegedly this subject's daughter was observed concealing merchandise on her person also but fled the scene.
Michelle Elizabeth Payne is charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Investigation continues with additional arrests expected.
