God’s Pantry Food Bank Board of Directors Announces Interim CEO

Lexington, KY - God’s Pantry Food Bank Board of Directors announced that Ame Sweetall has been appointed Interim CEO of the Food Bank, and will take over following Marian Guinn’s departure later this month. In addition to being a longtime supporter, Ame has served as a member of the GPFB Marketing & Communications Committee for 5 years.

I am excited to have the opportunity to further the mission, and committed to leading the organization through this important transition” says Sweetall. “Marian Guinn's leadership has elevated the God's Pantry Food Bank brand and has created a transformation in the approach to ending hunger in Central and Eastern Kentucky. We thank her for her commitment and the important role she played in shaping and achieving the innumerable accomplishments of God's Pantry Food Bank over the last 19 years.”

Ame is the co-owner of APS Communications, an integrated marketing and consulting firm. She brings a combination of marketing, public relations and fund raising solutions experience to the Food Bank. From 1994 to 2004, Ame served as the Executive Director in the Office of Fund Development for the University of Kentucky Hospital, UK Children’s Hospital, Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Miracle Network where responsibilities included planning, organizing and management of all corporate, foundation, event and individual fundraising and strategy. During her time as Executive Director, Ame spearheaded the capital gifts campaign to build the first phase of the new Children’s Hospital at UK.

The search committee has also selected Frank Parsons with the Center for Nonprofit Management to lead the search for a new CEO.
