KSP Investigates Escaped Inmate charged with Murder - Lee County


BEATTYVILLE, Ky. (September 9, 2016) –The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is looking for an inmate that escaped in Lee County while being transported back to the Three Forks Regional Jain following a court appearance in Breathitt County earlier today.

The initial investigation alleges that William Napier, 31 years old of Clay Hole, KY, escaped from a Breathitt County transport van at approximately 1:30 pm today on KY-52, east of Beattyville.

Napier swam across the river, and was last seen on Rock of Ages Road wearing khaki pants and no shirt. He is described as 5’10” tall and 180 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and may have a cut to one of his arms or hands.

Napier was in jail after being charged with Murder in July, following an investigation by the KSP Hazard Post.
