Representative Bunch Secures Proclamation for Day of Prayer Over Students Across Kentucky

Representative Regina Bunch,

FRANKFORT, Ky. (September 15, 2016) – Representative Regina Bunch, R-Williamsburg, has successfully worked with Governor Matt Bevin and Tim Bargo of First Priority Tri-County to proclaim September 28, 2016 as the Day of Prayer Over Students Across Kentucky.

Seeking to raise awareness of the spiritual needs of Kentucky’s students, the proclamation encourages the mobilization of thousands of adults to pray for and with their teenagers.

“Our students face extreme challenges when it comes to peer pressure in our schools and negative influences throughout society,” said Rep. Regina Bunch. “I believe each of us must do everything in our power to ensure our children are not only protected, but encouraged and supported as they develop into our next community and state leaders.”

Rep. Bunch has worked for several years in the legislature to see a proclamation approved for this matter. Governor Matt Bevin is the first Governor to approve this day of observance.

“I commend Governor Bevin for his help in seeing that the safety and positive development of our students is a priority in this state,” added Rep. Bunch. “I, along with First Priority Tri-County, have worked for several years to see this proclamation succeed, and I appreciate the Governor working with us to ensure that prayer is offered for the safety, strength, and wisdom of our students.”

Citizens of Kentucky are encouraged to observe and pray for our state’s children on September 28, 2016.
