Myrtle (Fields) Napier age 92 of Vandalia, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at home surrounded by her daughters after a short illness. Myrtle was born on January 9, 1932, to parents Virgil and Martha (Byrd) Fields in Clay County KY. She was a member of the Martha Clark Eastern Star Lodge No. 201 at Sexton Creek Kentucky, since March 3, 1951.
She was extremely proud when she received her SO-year pin. Myrtle worked at McCall's in Dayton until the birth of her third child when she became a stay-at-home mom. A role she loved. She was happiest when she was surrounded by family & doing for others. Taking care of her family was her greatest joy. She loved to garden, sew, and crochet.
She is survived by her two daughters and son in laws, Patricia & Richard Snider, Janet & Steve Bednasek of Springfield, OH, nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles,1 daughter Barbara Napier, Step-mother, Naomi Fields, 4 sisters, Oca Fields, Sarah Fields Osborne, Audrey Farmer, and Grace McIntosh, and 1 brother, William Henry Fields.
Her daughters would like to thank her neighbors for all the years of looking after Myrtle with so much love and support that were more like family than neighbors, the many people who sent her cards, flowers, food, that brighten her days near the end, and the Hospice staff of Dayton for the care in the last months of her life.
Visitation will be held at Britton Funeral Home in Manchester, KY on Friday, June 28, 2024 from 6-8. Service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 11:00 at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Burchette officiating. She will be laid to rest at Cradle Bowl Cemetery in Sextons Creek.
