General "Spoon" Wagers, Jr., of Goose Rock, was born June 30th, 1934, passed away Friday, February 22nd, 2013, at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Erma Jewell Wagers, and the following children: Vincent Wagers, Herman Wagers and wife, Charlene, and Betty Wagers, all of Goose Rock, Linda Velazquez and husband, David, of Huntsville, AL, Mellissa Malloy and husband, Mark, of Cincinnati, OH, and Ruby Jewell Wagers Jarvis, and husband, Raymond, of Richmond.
He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers: Troy Wagers and wife, Jean, and Herman Wagers, and wife, Billie Ann, both of Cincinnati, OH.
He is preceded in death by 2 sons: Marty Wagers and Johnny Wagers
Funeral services for General "Spoon" Wagers Jr. will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Britton Funeral Home chapel with R. J. Mathis, Elbert Mitchell, and Paul Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in the Wagers Cemetery at Butterfly Hollow.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Sunday at the Britton Funeral Home.
