Mr. Maynard Smith, age 58 of Goose Rock, departed this life on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at his home.
He was born Sunday, April 8, 1956 in the Red Bird Community in Clay County, Kentucky to Berley and Amanda (Revis) Smith. He was a coal miner and a utility and cable lineman. He believed in the Holiness faith.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Loretta Smith and these children: Misty Michelle Smith and Saundra Nichol Smith. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Jimmy Brandon Smith, Mark Bradley Smith, Cambria Riley Forman, and Colton Urijah Forman. These sister and brothers are surviving: Eurilla Smith, Melvin Smith, Lester Smith and James Smith, and many special nieces and nephews.
Mr. Smith is preceded in death by his parents: Berley and Amanda Smith; 3 brothers: Puvella Smith, Dillard Smith, Kersley Smith and 1 sister: Priscilla Roark.
Funeral Services for Mr. Maynard Smith will be conducted on Saturday, June 28 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jim Smith will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Friday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
