Mr. Stanley Sams, well known as Buster, age 73 of Indianapolis, Indiana formerly of Clay County, departed this life on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Indiana.
He was born on Sunday, June 15, 1941 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Kelly and Laura Thompson Sams. He is a veteran of the United States Army where he served in the Korean Conflict.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter: Edith Gipson Byrd and her husband Shawn, 4 grandchildren: Tracy Diaz, Terry Gipson, Tanya Gipson, and Todd Gipson and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by these siblings: Jane Vogen, Millie Whitholtt, Emily Sue Malawaksi, and Joyce Ann McCarthy and Roy.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Kelly Sams and Laura Sams, and these brothers and sisters: Laura Jean Wolfe, Chelsea Lou Miller, Rose Marie White, Estill Sams, and Harvey Sams, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services for Mr. Stanley Sams will be conducted on Thursday, January 22, at 12 PM at the Manchester Gospel Mission. Rev. Tess Lipps will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Sams Cemetery in the Hector Community.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening after 6 PM at the Manchester Gospel Mission.
