Sheriff John Root stated the "War on Drugs" continues!
Laurel County, KY - Laurel Sheriff John root along with Detective Jason back, Detective James Sizemore, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lt. Greg Poynter, Detective Sgt. Kevin Berry, Detective Chris Edwards, Deputy Brandon Broughton, and Deputy Jake Miller arrested three individuals on Friday afternoon November 30, 2017 at approximately 3:10 P.M. off Court Road approximately 2 miles south of London.
The arrests occurred after the Laurel County Sheriff's office received numerous drug complaints from that location and conducted an investigation there.
When deputies arrived at the scene, one individual fled into the bathroom and attempted to exit the bathroom window and upon observing deputies apparently threw his phone into the toilet.
As deputies investigated they found a subject there in possession of a used needle, and also found a cut straw with residue on it and learned through investigation that individuals there had prescription drugs filled for Gabapentin and Clonazepam that day, and a large quantity of the pills were already missing.
One female subject told deputies she had traveled to that location to obtain nerve pills. Also, deputies determined that an elderly female lived at the residence there.
