Complaint of vehicle striking a mailbox / Clay County

Clay County, Ky. - The Clay County Sheriff's Office is reporting that: On March 19, 2019 at approximately 9:00 AM Clay County Sheriff Patrick Robinson received a complaint of a vehicle that had struck a mailbox on Paces Creek Road.

Upon arrival Sheriff Robinson made contact with Johnathon Garland age 36 of London, the male subject showed signs of impairment.

Once Sheriff Robinson searched the subject, Sheriff Robinson located a controlled substance, loaded syringes that was uncapped and a loaded pistol in the pocket of his jacket.

The subject was transported to AdventHealth Manchester where the above mentioned subject refused blood test.

Once the subject's information was ran through Clay County 911 it was confirmed he had active warrants out for his arrest.

Johnathon Garland was charged with:

  • Operating Motor Vehicle under the Influence of DRUGS/ALC/ETC. .08 1st
  • Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree
  • No Operators License
  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court
  • Serving Bench Warrant for Court
