Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Gary Mehler and his K-9 "Edge" arrested Anthony Wayne Hornsby age 39 of Manchester, KY early Sunday morning August 25, 2019 at approximately 2:16 AM.
The arrest occurred off Marydell Road, approximately 8 miles east of London after Deputy Mehler was dispatched to a vehicle crash there with reported entrapment.
Upon arrival at the scene Deputy Mehler located this subject apparently asleep in the vehicle. Deputy Mehler noted the vehicle had apparently ran off the road striking a tree.
Deputy Mehler detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the vehicle and upon helping the driver out of the vehicle conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
Anthony Wayne Hornsby was charged with:
- Operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense
This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
