Armed Robbery at Quality Inn Hotel in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Detective Kyle Gray along with Sgt. John Inman, Deputy Shannon Jones, Deputy Gary Mehler with assistance from Corbin City Police are investigating an armed robbery which occurred at Quality Inn Hotel off Adams Road, approximately 10 miles South of London early Saturday morning September 7, 2019 at approximately 2:30 AM.

Investigators learned that allegedly a lone suspect entered the front lobby of the hotel and jumped over the counter armed with a knife taking an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register. He then forced the male clerk into the breakfast area of the hotel threatening him.

The suspect then fled out the door and has not been located.

The suspect is described as:

  • A white male
  • Approximately 5'10"
  • 130 to 150 pounds
  • Wearing: camo gloves, coveralls and a bandanna with two eye-holes cut out

The investigation is continuing by Sheriff’s Detective Kyle Gray.
