LONDON, KY (November 27, 2019) - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Landry Collett assisted by Laurel Sheriff's canine Deputy Jake Miller and Deputy Joey Robinson arrested two individuals on Monday afternoon November 25, 2019 at approximately 12:54 PM.
The arrests occurred after deputies observed a silver colored Lexus RX 300 driving erratically on Hal Rogers Parkway in London.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop and found both occupants of the vehicle in possession of a drug pipe and suspected Methamphetamine.
The two arrested individuals were identified as:
The driver, Lynn Smith age 37 of Philpot Rd., London charged with:
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
- Careless driving
The passenger, James Proffit age 43 of Rough Creek Rd., London charged with;
- Possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – Methamphetamine
- Possession of drug paraphernalia
These two individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
