Deputies Dispatched to an "Out-of-Control" Male at a Church in Southern Kentucky

LONDON, KY - Laurel County Sheriff John Root is reporting that: Laurel Sheriff's Deputy Tommy Houston along with Deputy Hobie Daugherty arrested Gareth Grimes age 21 of London early Sunday morning December 6, 2020 at approximately 12:58 AM.

The arrest occurred off River Road, approximately 10 miles South of London after deputies were dispatched to an out-of-control male subject at a church there.

Upon arrival at the scene deputies found this subject being restrained by members of the church.

Deputies noted this individual was screaming and creating a disturbance and was determined by deputies to be under the influence.

Upon arrest this individual continued to scream and continued to create a disturbance there.

Gareth Grimes was charged with:

  • Public intoxication – Controlled substances
  • Menacing
  • Disorderly conduct – Second-degree

This individual was lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center.
